Why?

Very simple!

Because that poisonous, malicious person will soon start to poison other team members as well.

Of course we are not apples; but I always used to give the following example to my employees at the decision stage when there was a conflict similar to the one above regarding preference in the recruitment process: Let’s say you have a big basket full of apples and all the apples are delicious, fresh and crunchy… Also, you have one rotten apple in your hand. When you put that rotten apple in the basket, unfortunately, there is no possibility that the fresh apples in the basket will fix the rotten one and make it fresh, too; However, the opposite is always possible. So it’s pretty close that you’ll see one rotten apple slowly starting to spoil the other fresh ones in the basket.
